Warning: Once you make homemade whipped cream you won't want to buy store bought again!
1/2 pint heavy whipping cream
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/4 -1/2 cup powdered sugar, depending on the sweetness you desire
Chill mixing bowl and utensils in the fridge about 30 min before using, helps keep the whipping cream cool while beating. Pour the heavy whipping cream in the mixing bowl and beat until smooth, before stiff peaks form. Add the vanilla and slowly incorporate the powdered sugar until peaks form. Don't over beat or you will get butter.
Now if you over beat before adding the powdered sugar and you have peaks, it's ok, just fold the powdered sugar and vanilla in slowly and gently
Serve on pancakes, shortcake, coffee, french toast, pumpkin pie and anything you think might taste good with whipped cream!
